The 51st Regional Meeting of the Disaster Preparedness and Prevention Initiative for South-Eastern Europe (DPPI SEE) took place in Belgrade from 25–27 March 2026, hosted by the Republic of Serbia's Ministry of the Interior – Sector for Emergency Management.
Over three days, national delegations, civil protection authorities, and international partners gathered to strengthen cooperation and advance resilience across South-Eastern Europe.
The internal panels opened with remarks from Mr. Luka Čaušić, Chair-in-Office for 2026, and Dr. Rade Rajkovchevski, Head of the DPPI SEE Secretariat.
On 26 March, Delegations reviewed the 2025 Annual Report, progress on the ratification of the Host Country Agreement, and the draft of the new Strategic Development Plan (2026–2031). They also discussed budget updates, audit results, procurement outcomes, and the status of partnerships.
On 27 March, participants elected the new Finance and Administrative Assistant and explored cooperation opportunities presented by international organizations and partners, including DG ECHO, UNICEF, UNDP/UNDRR, the Union for the Mediterranean, IPA CARE project, and Prepared International.
The event closed with a shared commitment to advancing disaster preparedness and prevention in the region, reinforcing DPPI SEE’s role as a platform for collaboration and resilience.
