DPPI SEE's primary objectives are to:

1. Serve as a regional network for disaster preparedness and prevention.

2. Promote cooperation among member states in the context of EU enlargement and Euro-Atlantic integration.

3. Support efforts to improve disaster management through partnerships with international organizations, particularly the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

4. Strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation, facilitating the exchange of information between national disaster management authorities.

5. Share lessons learned and best practices across the region.
